About Steve Papadimos

Greater Toledo area attorney Steve Papadimos believes that the elderly need extra protection from criminals. The elderly are more susceptible to abuse and neglect by their caretakers, as well as exploitation from con artists looking to swindle their marks and their families out of their money. Consequently, Steve Papadimos oversees the Senior Protection Unit of the Lucas County Prosecutor’s Office in Toledo, Ohio, as part of his position as Chief of the Civil Division. At the Senior Protection Unit, Steve Papadimos assigns a part-time investigator and two dedicated prosecuting attorneys to investigate potential cases of financial exploitation, caretaker neglect, and physical abuse of Lucas County’s senior citizens.

While not all investigations lead to criminal indictments, those that do are prosecuted vigorously. Under Steve Papadimos’ leadership, the Senior Protection Unit has investigated dozens of potential crimes, with a high success rate and appropriate sentences. One of the Senior Protection Unit’s more recent successful cases involved a man who stole thousands from a 79-year-old woman by writing checks to himself instead of paying her bills. Thanks to the aggressive investigation by Steve Papadimos and the Senior Protection Unit, the man is currently serving a five-year prison sentence after pleading no contest to a count of theft from the elderly. Steve Papadimos obtained his Juris Doctor from the University of Toledo College of Law and is licensed to practice law in Ohio.
